ISBR has always believed that, in order to succeed, one must not just get confined to the book knowledge. However, more insights are generated when interaction with industry leaders are done. In continuation to this legacy, ISBR Business School organised an Industry Guest Lecture on Warehousing and Logistics Management on 23rd February 2017.
The Chief Speaker of the workshop was Mr. Lakshmi Pathy D N, Senior Manager – Operations, Sical Logistics Limited. He has been associated with HomeShop18 and APL Logistics as Senior Manager – Operations, Warehousing and Distribution in the past. He was also associated with Linfox as Manager – Inventory and DC. He has developed logistics modules for SAP and also give corporate lectures and conducts seminars, pan-India, on a regular basis.
Warehousing is a place where the items are received stored and dispatched. He gave an insight of warehousing and the different types of warehousing. He threw light on the Supply Chain Management and the various Pros and Cons associated with this specialised field of Management. He focused on the different types of delivery – First Mile Delivery, Middle Mile Delivery and Last Mile Delivery. He shared the various Environmental Health and Safety measures which are required for Supply Chain Management. He enlightened the room with his knowledge of Storage, Warehousing and Logistics being an integral part of Supply Chain Management.
