15th August 2017 marked the 70th Independence Day of India and this day was glorified at lSBR campus with great enthusiasm and zeal. The vibrant and festive look of the campus was enhanced by creative decorations, floral arrangements, and tricolor ribbons. The Chief Guest of the event, Prof. Arun Swaminathan, an architect, academician, cartoonist, artist, and writer kicked off the ceremonies with the flag hoisting ceremony in the presence of directors, all faculty, staff, and students of the college. Students received motivation to adapt and inculcate the human values of truthfulness, honesty, integrity, compassion, non-violence and become better citizens of the country from his speech.
Student representatives, Bodhayan, Ankur, and Manish performed the song,’ Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera’, which invoked patriotic feelings among the audience. Another group of students performed a dance that instilled a sense of pride in the audience.
Dr. K.S. Anandram (Senior Director), Dr. C. Manohar (Director – Strategy, and Dean), and Prof. G.R. Nair (Director Admissions) spoke.
