“Great people stand out from others by their visions and not much by their intelligence”. This quote is the best example for a visionary leader. A visionary leader is a person who has a clear idea of how the future should look. They set out concrete steps to bring a vision to life, and then they lead a team of people in that direction. The guest lecture by Dr.Kiran Nair threw a light on visionary leadership on 15th march, 2021. The key takeaways are that we should develop leadership quality over the period. Now-a-days many young leaders are heading the organizations. We have to choose what we want to become, a follower or a leader. He also stressed that “Vision is important”. We should develop our vision by answering the following questions,
- Why do we do what we do?
- What does success look like?
- How must we act to ensure success?
We should treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. We have to express moral convictions, understand employees, engage and enrich them to build a trust in them. Overall, the session was enlightening and motivating. The students were all energized after the wonderful session.
