JD Orientation: Insights from ANZ Credit Officer at ISBR

JD Orientation: Alumnus-led Career Insights from ANZ Bank

At ISBR Business School, experiential learning takes center stage, and nothing exemplifies it better than our JD Orientation sessions. Our students had the unique opportunity to gain insider knowledge on the Credit Assessment Officer role at ANZ Bank, straight from someone who’s successfully transitioned from campus to corporate. The session was led by Atharv Sapate, a proud alumnus from the PGDM Batch of 2023–25, who now excels in his role at ANZ. His journey—just a step ahead of our current students—made the session both relatable and enriching.

Real-World Insights from an Alumnus at ANZ

Atharv went beyond the basics of a job description. He shared the real story behind the role, covering:
    • How he prepared for the ANZ selection process
    • Interview stages and tips to crack them
    • Traits and skills that ANZ values in candidates
With personal anecdotes, honest reflections, and practical advice, the session gave students a holistic picture of what it means to be a Credit Assessment Officer. Atharv’s story wasn’t just about landing a job—it was about adapting, learning, and thriving in a global bank environment.

Faculty Support Enhancing the Learning Curve

The session was seamlessly moderated by Prof. Amit K, who provided contextual alignment for students. His inputs helped bridge the gap between textbook knowledge and corporate expectations, guiding students to:
    • Match their strengths with job requirements
    • Understand how technical and soft skills combine in real roles
    • Ask the right questions for deeper clarity
This synergy between alumni experience and faculty guidance enriched the session beyond traditional orientations.

Beyond Job Descriptions: Building Confidence and Career Readiness

From resume-building pointers to mindset coaching, and from technical expectations to interpersonal finesse, this JD Orientation was a career catalyst. It not only equipped students with actionable insights but also inspired them to envision their own success stories. The experience reaffirmed ISBR’s belief in peer-led learning and the powerful role of alumni in shaping future business leaders.

A Culture of Giving Back and Growing Together

Sessions like these exemplify the ISBR spirit—where success is shared, and learning never stops. We look forward to many more such JD Orientations that empower students with the experience, expertise, and confidence to thrive in the corporate world.
