ISBR–IIM Nagpur Immersion Program: A Premier Experiential Learning Journey

Unlocking Leadership Potential: ISBR Students Gain Industry Insights at IIM Nagpur

In a rapidly evolving business landscape, classroom learning alone is no longer enough. Recognizing the need to blend theory with real-world insights, ISBR Business School, Bangalore, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur), curated a high-impact 5-day Immersion Program for its PGDM and MBA students.

Set against the backdrop of one of India’s premier management institutes, the program offered an inspiring mix of academic excellence, industry interface, entrepreneurial engagement, and peer networking. From cutting-edge analytics to startup strategies and from design thinking to sales innovation — students experienced the pulse of modern business education through intensive sessions, field visits, and interactions with domain leaders.

Day 1: Strategic Thinking in a Tech-Driven World

The immersion began with thought-provoking sessions on emerging business trends. Prof. Gunjan Tomar led the charge with insights on technological trends in data analytics, helping students understand how analytics is revolutionizing decision-making. This was followed by Prof. Prashant’s engaging module on Mergers & Acquisitions, offering case-based perspectives on the strategic rationale and complexities of M&A.

Day 2: Self-Leadership and Supply Chain Immersion

Prof. Alok‘s workshop on Data Visualisation taught students how to communicate insights through compelling visuals — a must-have skill in today’s data-driven world. Prof. Devashish Rath’s Managing Self session equipped future leaders with tools for personal mastery and emotional intelligence. The day concluded with a field visit to Mother Dairy, offering deep insights into supply chain strategies and operations at scale.

Day 3: Digital Disruption and Design Thinking

The focus shifted to the digital frontier. Prof. Yatish Joshi explored digital marketing strategies while Prof. Rakesh Gupta introduced students to design thinking for human-centered innovation. The day wrapped up with an intellectual tour at the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), offering a close look into R&D in the industrial sector.

Day 4: Entrepreneurship in Action and Sales Mastery

A deep dive into startup culture was led by Mr. Maharishi Vyas, Co-founder of The Career Company, incubated at IIMN’s InFED. Students learned about startup funding, incubation, and entrepreneurial resilience. Later, Mr. Aniruddha Athawale demystified sales management with real-world examples from FMCG, insurance, and digital sales sectors. An evening virtual interaction with the IIM Nagpur Student Council fostered valuable peer-to-peer networking.

Day 5: Career Readiness and Startup Internships

The final day featured a valedictory function, celebrating learning, growth, and collaboration. Career-focused sessions were conducted by Dr. Balachandar.S and Prof. Madan G from ISBR, who coached students through mock interviews and JD training. Notably, three students interviewed directly with startup co-founders and made a lasting impression — a testament to their preparation and potential.

Beyond the Classroom: Lasting Impacts and Future Vision

The ISBR–IIM Nagpur Immersion Program exemplifies the future of management education in India — one that blends theory, practice, and innovation. By providing a platform for academic rigor, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurial exposure, the program empowered students to think strategically, lead effectively, and act decisively in dynamic business environments.
