Eligibility

Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering and Technology / Management / Economics / Social Science / Biological Science / Pure Science / Commerce / Humanities with FIRST CLASS shall be considered for admission to Fellow Programme.

Program Cycle

Stage 1 – Enrollment, Interview, Research Proposal Presentation & Registration.

Stage 2 – Coursework Module, Research work & Thesis Submission.

Stage 3 – Validation, Assessment & Certification.

Credit Requirement
The stream specific Courses and Seminars shall be decided as approved by the Director on the recommendation by the candidate’s Guide(s) and the Research Advisory Committee.

Duration for earning Credit
All the credits specified above shall be earned within a maximum of three years from the date of admission to the Programme. Extension after the three years shall be approved by the Director for a period of one year with a review of progress every six months. Final approval shall be given by the Director of the Institution.

Credit Course Requirement
A research scholar shall undergo 4 Courses of the total 12 credits in the first module and during the second module he/ she shall undergo three streams-specific Courses of 9 credits and give three credit Seminar on general management topic in the third module, the candidate shall give three credits Seminar and write a review paper on the literature related to his/her research topic for publication purpose of 3 credits. Thus a candidate shall earn 12 credits in the first and second module and 6 credits in the third module together adding up to 30 credits in all.

Grading System of Credit Courses/Seminar
The minimum of CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or 60% is required for passing Course/ Seminar. A candidate getting less than 60% shall be given one more opportunity to repeat the Course/ Seminar. If he/ she still does not pass in the Course/ Seminar, he/ she shall be terminated from the Fellow Programme.

*Note on FPM Program Fee Structure:

The total fee for the three-year FPM program is ₹3,30,000, excluding application fee and also any additional charges that may arise due to a change of guide or change of research title.

To ensure a smooth and structured fee collection process, the total amount is distributed evenly across the three years, with an average annual fee of ₹1,10,000.

Scholarship Notes:

  1. ISBR Faculty and Staff are eligible for a 50% scholarship on Admission and Institution Fees, applicable only if they complete their employment tenure with ISBR Business School during their FPM journey.
  2. ISBR Associates / Alumni / Visiting Faculty are eligible for a 25% scholarship on total fees.
  3. For extended duration beyond three years, a fee of ₹50,000 p.a for Indian Scholar and ₹1,00,000 p.a for the Foreign Scholar will be applicable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Registration Seminar and Pre-Registration Process?

Each research scholar must complete a Pre-Registration Seminar after finishing the first three coursework modules.

A Committee comprising the Director, Guide(s), and institutional experts will evaluate your research proposal.

Requirements:

  • Submit 5 hard copies of a 15–20 page pre-registration report (includes title, objectives, scope, hypothesis, and methodology).
  • Present a seminar before the committee.

Outcome:

  • If unsuccessful, the scholar may resubmit and present a revised proposal once.
  • Failure in the second attempt leads to termination from the program.

After successfully completing the Pre-Registration Seminar, apply for formal registration within one month.

Documents & Fee:

  • Approved title and summary of Thesis by Guide(s)
  • Registration fee: Rs. 2500/-
  • Registration date = Date of application
  • Minimum duration: 2 years (after registration)
  • Maximum duration: 5 years (from admission date)
  • Extensions may be granted upon approval, with a re-registration fee, but only for 2 more years.
  • Unauthorized breaks before registration lead to cancellation of admission.

Before submitting the Thesis, scholars must:

  • Submit 5 copies of a Pre-Synopsis Report (max 40 pages)

  • Present the report before a committee (including Director, Guide(s), internal and external experts)

After approval, an abridged Synopsis (15–70 pages) is submitted within one month.

After synopsis approval, submit the Thesis within 6 months, along with:

Requirements:

  • 6 printed copies + 1 soft copy
  • Thesis submission fee: Rs. 25,000/-.  Includes examiner honorariums (US$250 for foreign, Rs. 5000 for Indian examiner)
  • 2 examiners (1 Indian, 1 foreign) are selected.
  • Examiners evaluate quality, originality, and methodology.
  • They may recommend: Approval, Modifications,  Rewriting with/without further research
  • A rejected thesis may be revised and resubmitted within 1 year.
  • If rejected again, the candidate is disqualified from the program.

Upon acceptance of the Thesis:

  • A viva-voce (oral defense) is conducted by a panel: Chairman (Dean or Nominee) Guide(s) Indian External Examiner
  • If unsuccessful, the scholar may reappear for the viva-voce within 6 months.

After successful viva-voce and approval by the Governing Board, the scholar is awarded the “Fellow in Management” title.

The Thesis title is mentioned in the certificate.

  • Progress reports are mandatory.
  • Unsuccessful coursework must be re-evaluated by the Research Committee.
  • Dual enrollment in equivalent programs leads to disqualification.
  • The Institution may amend regulations periodically; all changes are binding.
  • Typical Duration: 4–5 years
  • Maximum Allowable Time: 7 years. After 7 years, if incomplete, the student’s enrollment is withdrawn.

Upon successful completion, scholars are conferred the prestigious title of: “Fellow in Management”
